"Some People Always Finish Last, Still I Ended Up a Badass."

Yes, folks, the circle game. I'm back in a Kacy Crowley faze. Luckily, I fell for her musical talent before I ever saw here. When I found this video for her achingly beautiful "Badass", it became "too many for me."

Owen dude,

This is not the one you gotta here. Send me your email address and I will send you MP3 files of Blood and Kinda' Perfect. These songs are like discovering the next Bonnie Raitt; they blew my mind a 3 years ago; I put them down over and over and can't kink the habit. I got her blood on my hands and I'm trapped.

Hey! I saw the note you left about "California Soul," and you're right, the Marvin/Tammi version is a good one. Doesn't quite touch Marlena's, but it's good. It is available on CD on the box set, "The Complete Duets." (Check http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00005RIK5/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me=&seller= )Thanks for the note -- and this video is pretty good! Thanks!

There is plenty of California Soul to go around, even all these years after 1966.

Oh, absolutely there's enough to go around . . . and my opinions are just that, opinions. Sometimes they're reasoned out, sometimes they're gut-level stuff and sometimes, I'm sure, they're utter silliness. I try to listen and learn, too, and one thing I've learned is that if we all liked the same thing, this would be a boring world, indeed! (And every note you drop helps me make my blog better, too! Thanks!)
