The Plane Crash That Robbed Us All
Yesterday was the anniversary of the death, in a plane crash, of Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, and The Big Bopper. In memory, here's one of my favorite Buddy Holly tunes, Not Fade Away.

I have a framed reprint of the next week's Clear Lake Mirror-Reporter on the wall of my study. I was far too young to know what had happened . . . but I think of it every February 3 anyway.
whiteray, we were both too young too understand the significance of that plane crash in rock history, but we've come to understand. As Robbie Robbie Robertson put it an interview in Martin Scorsese's "The Last Waltz", the road has taken a lot of the great ones.
